Launcher background colour doesn't blend well with wallpaper

Bug Description

This is more of a wishlist-type item than a bug, but currently the method that the Unity launcher, and I suppose the Dash (and notify-osd bubbles) as well, uses to "chameleonize" itself doesn't always go nicely with the user's wallpaper; the colour it picks is more consistent with the centre of the wallpaper. (See attached screenshot.)

A nicer solution would be that it determines its colour from the area that the launcher overlaps the desktop wallpaper, thereby blending with that section of the wallpaper and thereby looks more cohesive overall.
