BeatBox will not open Ubuntu 12.4

I am also having a problem with Beatbox not opening at all (no reaction when I open it from 'Dash Home')

I am VERY new to Ubuntu (3 days old and proud). I have 12.4 and all updates installed.

I installed using Terminal command:

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:sgringwe/beatbox
    sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install beatbox

but like I said nothing happens when I click on the Beatbox Icon in Dash

I really don't know much about using the Terminal so as much basic help would be very appreciated

Try running it in terminal and see what output you get.

Sorry for spam, but I should mention that I am running precise amd64, and installed beatbox_0.7+r797-0~precise1_amd64.deb downloaded from this ppa.

It turns out that the granite API has been broken. Working on a fix.
