unplugging dsl cable crashes system

Bug Description
The system will crash if I unplug the dsl cable. Every time. Most annoying! What is more, it will not reboot. I have to start Windows, then reboot.
This, which I have had for about 18 months, has been fixed in kernel 3.6 in Fedora
