Bug Description

I was just casually playing this game (again) when it happened.
I chose the track "Scotland" (but it also happened to other tracks).
In this version, 0.7.3, we have other characters and one of the newer ("Monkey") is not rendered properly.
I play this game on a machine with Ubuntu 12.04 LTS, in version 0.7.0 and this bahavior does not happen.
So, I guess, the Ubuntu 12.10 repository has a buggy version of this game.

This bug was fixed in the package supertuxkart - 0.8-1

---------------
supertuxkart (0.8-1) experimental; urgency=low

  * New upstream release.
    - Use embedded/forked copy of irrlicht; refer to debian/README.source for
      details. Also import patches used in Debian's irrlicht source package.
    - Remove build-depends on libirrlicht-dev.
    - Add build-depends on zlib1g-dev, libbz2-dev, libpng-dev, libjpeg-dev,
      mesa-common-dev.
    - Remove backport_cmake.patch and build_with_irrlicht_1.8.patch; applied
      upstream.
    - Refresh remaining patches.
  * Bump Standards version to 3.9.4, no changes required.
