Lingo missing phonetic alphabet characters

I installed Lingo in Ubuntu 12.10 and the characters from the phonetic alphabet dont appear correctly. Am I missing some font that comes in Elementary and is not installed in Ubuntu?

This is the output I have once I open Lingo:

elementary - (??l????-m??n??t??-r??, -tr??)

Expected output:
