the repo is not tagged, there is just a loose branch which is not really sufficient

this is important for packaging. I know there is an old bug about this, but it didn't contain useful information on where to find the source tarball for 0.8

A branch is not a fix commit. To ensure that people have 100% the same version/files you either ship a tarball or tag your repo. Tarball is better, cause even tags can be changed (although that is very bad style, but I saw it happen).

Better distribute a tar file. The bazaar branch is full of overhead. s25rttr-0.8.tar.bz2 generated by https://build.opensuse.org/package/files?package=s25rttr&project=games is 197.6 MB
