Bug Description

Binary package hint: adept-updater

After changing the theme a few times i then noticed that the loading bars in the update manager had... well kind of jammed, The percent downloaded keeps changing but by the looks of it just keeps adding the new % on top of the the previous ones. So by the end you all the numbers from 1-100 on top of each other. See screen Shot. Also it only seems to start this behavior when it gets passed 40%

philb,

this bug is filed against adept but the screen shot looks more like a gnome desktop which suggests that you are using update-manager rather than adept. Either way could you let us know which version of ubuntu you are using and whether these problems still exist or has it been fixed by any subsequent updates?

Rich

Opps my mistake, It should indeed be the update manager. I am using the Gnome Version of Ubuntu. As to weather or not it still does this im not sure. There are no updates to test it with at the moment.

It is only a minor bug, it only happens if you change the theme whilst updateing, now how many people are going to be doing that! and the effects disappear the next time you run the update manager.

Actually i wonder if this is a bug with gnome rather then the update manager.

As you describe this issue is a small one caused by an unusual set of actions. It could indeed be in gnome or GTK somewhere but I'll assign it to update-manager as the most likely candidate for now until we see if anyone can reproduce it.

Just to check, are you running the most recent version of Ubuntu 7.04 with all the updates installed? I'm assuming you are but it's good to have complete information.

thanks for following up.

I can't confirm this. Does this also happen in Ubuntu 10.04 LTS? Or what version of Ubuntu do you use now?
