Bug Description
Binary package hint: kdemultimedia
I have a 5.1 channel sound system. Generally I am playing 2ch sound sources, and prefer for the sound to come out of all the speakers.
If I have "Duplicate Front" switch set, the stereo channels are duplicated to the other 2.1 channels. The problem arises when the Master channel is muted (as with a keyboard button), the front channels are muted, but the back channels are not. Master volume also only affects the front, stereo channels.

I have the same problem.
Since when I upgraded to kubuntu 7.10, my keyboard volume key only controls the "main" channel. The problem is, that the main channel does not affect my rear speakers (I have 4.1 setup). Before, I solved this problem by setting in kmix PCM as the main channel, but now this does not work anymore.
