Bug Description

With v2.62-1 from precise, I was able to start blender with or without the nvidia chipset enabled. However, with quantal and blender 2.63a-1ubuntu1 I have to enable the nvidia chipset or the application will not start. The problem persists even when the nvidia chipset is completely disabled (not seen by the system at all).
