Bug Description

I use the NVidia binary XOrg driver (nvidia-current), automatically presented by the applet "Software sources", however, in the Details menu of gnome-control-center the text says my video driver is unknown. Actually, after the fresh install it also showed up as Unknown, although it was using xserver-xorg-video-nouveau. I have a NVidia GeForce 9300M G graphics adapter.

Have 2 systems showing same issue after 12.04 to 12.10 upgrade (x64);
Dell Studio 1535 with AMD/ATI Radeon 3400 DV620 Video Card
Asus U24E with Integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000
Both seem to be running vesa driver, and showing user experience as standard.
If there are specifc logs or config files worth sharing, pls advise - Ubuntu noob.
