Bug Description
Ubuntu Studio 12.10 (Fresh Install)
Gateway NV5378u Laptop
Mass storage device icons show up twice on the desktop.
one icon reports the volume does not exist
the other icon reports "Adding read ACL for uid 1000 to `/media/xrs1' failed: Operation not supported"
mount reports volume already mounted.
umount reports volume is not mounted.
I have re-installed and tried again with the same results.
Using the same live USB device, i installed onto a Compaq Evo n610c
Evo mounts USB mass stoage devices properly but shows 2 icons on the desktop for a floppy drive.
no floppy exists in this laptop.
these icons give the same error messages as the problematic USB mass storage device icons on the Gateway NV53.
::UPDATE::
Issue relosved by installing updates (10/23/12), deleting the /media/%user% directory and apllying the fix again
(rvbglas: "Quick and dirty fix - created /media/$username directory, owned by $username. Now disk is mounted automatically as /media/
