Dash very slow in 12.10 (compared to 12.04)

12.04 was snappy on this machine, now it takes a full second to open dash and about half a second for each letter that you type to appear. What's going on?
Workaround: Set "Dash Blur" to "No Blur" in CompizConfig and it's as fast as it was in 12.04 (but ugly).

I have the same. Using Geforce 8400GS and takes at least 2 seconds for the dash to open.

Also when going to About This Computer is says Graphics is Unknown.
