All nvidia proprietary drivers fail to install silently and is noticed at next boot when desktop fails to appear.

Fixed by first installing the headers before installing the nvidia drivers...

sudo apt-get install linux-headers-3.5.0-17-generic

Installing linux-headers didn't help. When booting it reported an error about low-graphics. Looks like something is still missing. I hope this is solved soon because I have issues with nouveau driver.
