Unity overlays and switcher (blurred areas) are completely black in trunk

Bug Description
When using nux revision 688 and unity trunk, unity overlays (dash, hud, switcher) are completely black.
Reverting nux revision 688 fixes the issue.

Here just Switcher and Dash are black, while the HUD fully works (even with correct updates to the blur, if some action happens behind it).
