Bug Description

To reproduce:

1. Open boinc-manager.
2. Switch to a "Full view" (Shift+Ctrl+A)
3. Open some other windows (for ex. nautilus, firefox).
4. Minimize boinc-manager.
5. Close all other windows to show the desktop.
6. Boinc will come up by it self.

Thank you for your answer, I have added this PPA and will try to reproduce this bug with a new version after work.

Still having this issue. Version 7.0.36 doesn't help. And this issue it not only for my PC. I have it on my laptop, another PC with different hardware and 1 more laptop.

The example for the first issue

As you can see - it is not maximized to a global menu as it should be. I have it only with Boinc and Figaro's Password Manager.

But the most annoying is the second issue with only boinc-manager.

I think I know what the second issue is, the first one is something not related to boinc but to wx I think, I cannot reproduce on gnome-shell (Can you verify?)

You want me to install gnome-shell and try to reproduce it there?

So the second one won't be fixed in Ubuntu as it, as I understand, filled in upstream?

If you can try gnome-shell would be nice, for the second issue I'll build a private drop for you :)

I'll install gnome-shell this evening and test it. For the private drop - thank you. It will be available only in PPA, or for all Ubuntu users? I think I must not be the only affected

Okay... I was using gnome-shell for the first time and don't know exactly the normal behaviour of windows in it. But it seems to be no problem in it.

What I have done:

1. Opened boinc-manager in a full view.
2. Opened Nautilus, Writer, qBittorent.
3. Minimized boinc-manager by clicking on a "close" button in the right up corner.
4. Switched to another windows and started to close them.

Boinc don't came up.

But in Unity there is a problem.

About your personal drop... It won't work? Or why you removed it?

the private drop didn't fix the problem...

And for the Unity DM I think we have to report it on unity bug tracking, or into the wxwidgets one.

I am currently running Boinc 7.2.42(x64) on Ubuntu 14.04lts.
I have the same problem. When I minimize Boinc then close another window, Boinc maximizes on it's own.
I have had this problem for a while even with consistent updates.
