Bug Description

I upgraded my PC (http://wiki.ubuntu-it.org/CarlaSella/lshw) from Precise Pangolin to Quantal Final.
After reboot I found my desktop without any files, directories or links, the ones I had before upgrading.
I am attaching two screenshots: one with my empty desktop and one of the /home/letozaf/Desktop directory, as you can see the files in the /home/letozaf/Desktop are not displayed on desktop.

Could this bug have to to with my Nvidia video card ?
Maybe you cannot reproduce the bug because we do not have the same hardware.
If it can help I could install 12.04 on another partition on my HD and try to upgrade and see what happens.

Thanks, closing the bug as "Invalid" since it was not really a bug but a local installation issue
