Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-generic

The kernel 2.6.20-15-generic hangs during boot right after 10 sec:

ata1.00: revalidation failed (errno=-19)

I have to start with "noapic nolapic" anyways (Gigabyte GA-M33S-S3) and when I start in recovery mode I see more debug info that tells
me that the system is not able to handle my HD ("failed to recover some devices . . . Samsung HD252KJ . . . ata1.00: disable)

This problem occured first with 2.6.20-14-generic.
Kernel 2.6.20-13-generic is the last that works fine works fine.

I just want to confirm this issue. I can't boot 2.6.20-14-generic (amd64) on an ASUS K8V-MX. The harddrive is attached to a on board VIA VT6420. The edgy kernel boots fine and smartctl's short self-test reports no errors.

The bug is fixed for me.
It boots fine now with the new linux-image-2.6.20-15-generic package (2.6.20-15.27)
