Bug Description
Occasionally I receive an error report from Ubuntu with the option to send in the details of the error. However, if the error was generated from a non-official package (local installation or PPA) I cannot just click submit to send in the error.
It would be useful if I could get a text dump of the error (*all* the fields provided by Apport, not just the stacktrace). Perhaps a "Save as text file" button, "Copy error to clipboard" or something similar. Or a zip file if that makes more sense. Then I could submit this to the maintainer of the non-official package myself.
As a workaround /var/crash sometimes contains useful info (from http://
The .crash file in /var/crash/ is already a text dump (except of the binary data like the core dump, which is base64-encoded and compressed). So this already provides what you need. I don't like another "Save.." button, but I'm ok with pointing out the location of the crash file in the error message.
