Bug Description

Unlike other applications GIMP don't open maximised if it is closed maximised. This happens in the one-window-mode.

When reopened after being closed maximised, the program window is too large for the screen space available and extends below the bottom edge of the screen. This was confirmed at least for GIMP.

This happens at least for me with a monitor resolution of 1366 x 768.

According to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=597094, a fix was committed to GIMP's trunk branch today. That should solve the problem.

I don't understand why this bug report has anything to do with Unity or Compiz. May you please explain?

Today I tried to test GIMP from source. I can verify that GIMP now works as expected.

Today I installed gimp 2.8.2-1 from repositories of Xubuntu 12.10

I can confirm that the bug has NOT been fixed, and is very annoying...

I meant I have compiled GIMP from git.gnome.org and there it is fixed, at least for me.
