I'm not sure this is necessarily fixed in bug 1065815. I can reproduce this after installing version 0.9.8-1+bzr3409-staging1-201210180713~quantal1 from the daily build at https://code.launchpad.net/~compiz-team/+archive/compiz/+packages

To reproduce::

sudo apt-get install tightvncserver
vncserver :1
DISPLAY=:1 xterm &
vncviewer localhost:1

Then in the xterm window::
unity --debug

Is there an ETA on when 0.9.8.6 will be released?

Thanks

frizzle21,

If you're still experiencing this bug please clarify what compiz package version you have. I suspected bug 1065815 would solve this so you either need Ubuntu 13.04 or compiz 0.9.8.6 in Ubuntu 12.10.

Encountered on 13.04 running in vmware fusion 4.x (ie: no 3d, so it should be reverting to llvm-pipe presumably). It reported the error that led me here, but continued to work anyway. Compiz version 0.9.9; specifically

rachel@daring:~$ apt-cache policy compiz

May be slightly old versions; first time I ran the vm for a week or so, so about to do upgrades, but this happened first. I'll be back if it happens again after reboot...
