Bug Description

Ubuntu 12.10 beta 2 - Gnome shell 3.6

The problem occures with the combination of gnome-shell and empathy but I had to choose only one package...

This may not happen everytime.

When some one sends you a message in empathy, you will get a notification in which you can reply. After few messages(when scroll bar appears in the notification - i.e.,after 10 lines of chat), when you close the notification and when the other person pings you, you will get the notification again. But in the notification, it doesnt show you the last message (even if he sends only one line). It misses by few inches . You have to scroll down (by few inches) to get to see the last message. It becomes difficult to chat if you need to scroll down everytime you want to see the last message. Sometimes , you might be able to see the last message but only part of it (even if his reply is just two lines) . You might be seeing one line and then you have to scroll to see the other line of his last reply.

How to reproduce:

In emapthy chat window, Type something (Atleast 10 lines) so that in notification , you can see a scroll bar
Now close the notification
Next time, when the other person pings you, you get a notification but you wont be able to see his last message(even if he reply only one line) by default, you have to scroll down by few inches to see his last message.
If you close the notification and if he pings you again, you will get the notification but again you have to scroll down by few inches to see his last message.

Everytime , scrolling down even if its by few inches to see the last msg to reply is difficult :(

Please fix it

Thanks!

This is quite possibly related to Bug #1049210, can you try the updated telepathy-logger package from that bug ( should be quantal-proposed soon) and see if that resolves the issue.
