Thanks for reporting this bug and making Ubuntu better.
Could you please elaborate a bit on the missing icon? There is already a bug report (bug 737106) on idle displaying a grey question mark in the launcher on the left side when it is open. However, it seems to display a proper icon when searching for it in the Dash, so if you don't see an icon there either this would likely be an unrelated issue. So please take a look at the bug report and see whether this is a dupicate.
