Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-firefox

To reproduce: In a maximized Firefox window, right click near the bottom right corner of the webpage. Do not hold down the right mouse button, but release immediately.

Expected result: Firefox brings up a context menu but none of the menu items are highlighted or activated.

Actual result: Firefox activates the bottom menu item -- Switch Page Direction -- causing the direction of the whole page to switch.

More information: This was tested in Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Ubuntu 7.04 beta. This bug does not occur in Firefox 2.0.0.3 on Windows 2000.

Thank you for your report

That happens because if you right click on the bottom right corner of the page area the menu does open just where it only fits and then the option of the menu that gets instantly marked is the last one "Switch Page Direction", hence that behavior.

I agree that it's a weird behavior and that the menu should be placed somewhere else when the pointer is at the right bottom corner. I'll mark as wishlist

Changed in firefox:
assignee: nobody → mozilla-bugs
importance: Undecided → Wishlist
status: Unconfirmed → Needs Info

Forgot to say that if you keep pressed the right button (w/o release it) you can select any item on the menu.
