Bug Description

Pretty similar to this bug ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/893140 ) but instead of visual feedback for clicks in the launcher itself, there should be feedback for clicks in the dash.

On my hardware, it takes ages until a application opens up from dash. An instant visual feedback would not make apps launch faster, but they would seem to launch faster. There is a tremendous perceived speed increase.

My proposal:

- A click on an application in the dash adds the icon for this application to the launcher.
- The launcher icon immediately starts pulsing, indicating that the users click has been processed.

Oops, sorry. My mistake.

Still, sounds like this should be part of bug 893140.

This one is about the dash, while bug #893140 is about the launcher. I think it would be better to maintain and track them separately, since the code base is unrelated too.

Thanks for the comments. This design proposal is all about a perceived speed increase - a psychological trick. If the icon pops up in the launcher and starts to glow right after I clicked it in the dash, the user knows that his click has been recognized by his system.
The application doesn't start faster, but it seems that way.

Thank you all for keeping up the good work, Unity 6.8 is better than ever.

Note that fixing bug #893140 will also improve perceived speed of app loading.
