Bug Description

Before and after I installed bumblebee I often have title bar corruptions for inactive windows. I attached a screenshot.

I am not a regular bug committer, so please bear with me. If something is not clear, please ask.

I'm using Ivy Bridge too, and I can confirm this. However, the corruption doesn't stick around for long; at most it lasts a second or two in my case before correcting itself.

Gradient rendering problems are usually driver bugs. But until we investigate the exact driver problem, compiz is closer to the problem.

I think I made a mistake. I forgot that I previously added the x-org edgers ppa. I removed the ppa now, and reverted back to the out-of-the-box packages in ubuntu, and now (first boot), everything seems fine.

I will come back if the bug returns, but for now, let's blame the x-org edgers ppa. So maybe put the status to invalid?

Same problem here with fairly default settings.
OS: Ubuntu 12.10 64bit upgraded from Precise
Hardware: Core i5-3360M IvyBridge, current Intel drivers

Inactive windows for Nautilus look OK (slighly darker font compared to active, as by design), but Firefox and others consistently get a white titlebar background as shown in the screenshot attached by the original reporter. For me, they don't correct themselves or change in any way over time.

Applications looking good: Nautilus, Evince, System Monitor, LibreOffice, most Accessoires entries (calc etc), ...
Some programs with white inactive bg: Firefox, Thunderbird, gnome-terminal, Audacious, Mahjongg, Transmission, Geany, etc.

I'm beginning to suspect that it's simply a theming issue, but why the weird split across applications?

Incomplete/Invalid as per comment #4.

If you're using a xorg-edgers, please remove it. If the problem persists after that for anyone other than Ruben, please open a new bug.

@Ruben,
How did you solve this? I had x-swat updates installed before I upgraded to precise. The ppa was turned off during the upgrade, but I have the exact same problem you describe, and the coincidence is suspicious. I should be running the default packages, but I still see the problem. How can I make sure I'm not running something else?
