WORKAROUND:

1. You need to install dconf Editor (I think it is installed by default in quantal)
2. Open dconf and navigate to com.canonical.indicator.messages
3. Change the Value of the key applications from ['empathy.desktop', 'gwibber.desktop'] to ['empathy.desktop', 'gwibber.desktop', 'skype.desktop']
4. Log Out and Log In again. Now you should have a Skype Indicator again, if not restart your computer.

Could help us testing whether the Indicator works (missed messages are shown)

We can do it by using gio like we manage our own dconf settings (see settings.py)

The problem I encountered is that we have an entry but no missed messages are shown somehow. The Wrapper doesn't connect to the notification server.
