Insert menu grows in length every time it is opened

opening the insert menu creates a clone of that menu which gets appended to the bottom of insert menu on next opening. the menu keeps growing in length. it happens with keyboard shortcuts or clicking on the menu with the mouse under Unity.

unsure if it happens with other use interfaces

I can confirm this on Ubuntu 12.10. With every click of a menu, any menu, INSERT menu grows by an entire length - and it was so bad on mine that it scrolled off the page about 10x the menu's normal length. And that was only after a few clicks on several menus. Several lockups as well due to this.

Also, please disregard my comment in my linked-to thread about installing RUMOR - that apparently does not relate to this bug because other users have this same menu-bug issue and they don't have RUMOR installed (as I did at first).

This bug seems to bite if you use unity. Using gnome it does not occur.

Correct. If I log out and log back in as GNOME the bug does not occur - it seems to be w/ Unity only, yup.
