According to robclark from TI this bug is masked w/ unity because sub-pixel anti-aliasing causes different blit path which doesn't have that problem.

Is there any news on this bug report? I would love to be able to use my pandaboard again. (for now it is a very very expensive alarm clock and audio server)

quantal has seen the end of its life and is no longer receiving any updates. Marking the quantal task for this ticket as "Won't Fix".
