For the first time the user sees something like "Welcome to elementary OS. Since this version is released"... .

This should be translateable.

How does this got fixed? Where can I translate the new strings?

The problem has to do with our patch to update-manager, so you don't need to translate the strings. They are imported from Ubuntu.

However, my attempt to fix the bug has broken our patch and so I'll revert it.

I'll recommit a better fix soon.
