Bug Description
What I did:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get -y install flashplugin-
What I expected to happen:
Succcesful install of flashplugin
What happened instead:
A window pops up telling me "Failure to download extra data files". I can re-try the download.
Flash plugin install is unsuccesfull.
Solution:
The problem lies in the file "/usr/share/
The line "Url: http://
should read "Url: http://
ie the last digit of the flash version number has been changed from '3' to '8'.
Workaround:
sudo apt-get -y install flashplugin-
#Wait for the "Failure to download extra data files" message to pop up.
#Click close.
wget http://
sudo /usr/lib/
