Bug Description
system not getting restarted after installation, so i tried to re-install but installation crashed in between

thank you for reporting.
Unfortunally there will be no installation system upates for Ubuntu11.10.
Your only chance is to get on Ubuntu with a newer installation system which is provided by a newer Udbuntu version.
Please download Ubuntu 12.04.1 form:
http:// www.ubuntu. com/download
The desktop version may be recommend for personal use.

When you are one of the brave your needs could be fitted with the Ubuntu12.10 installation system which has got much work.
Ubuntu12.10 development goes to finish line.
The installer there has gotten much work and it is available now from:

as last beta before final
or daily updated:

That should help you out to get a Ubuntu working.
