Bug Description
1) Clean VMWare Player install of 12.04
2) Upgraded to 12.10
3) Uninstalled unity via command:
sudo apt-get remove unity unity-2d unity-2d-panel unity-2d-spread unity-asset-pool unity-services unity-lens-files unity-lens-music unity-lens-
4) Install gnome3 with:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell
5) Tried to log in but the screen remains "blank" (nothing except the wallpaper) until something crashes and I am lead to submit this bug report.
