entry in /etc/grub.d/40_custom not listed in grub menu

Bug Description

windows 7 not found by os_prober so i created a custom entry in 40_custom.

the custom entry does not show up in the grub menu on reboot.

this may be a seperate bug but selecting the "advanced options for ubuntu" menu option starts windows 7.

Yes, and the kernel has been upgraded many times since adding the custom entry and the custom entry doesn't show up.

This might be relevant.
I had 12.04 installed before and grub/osprober worked correctly.
I did a clean install of 12.10 and this problem came up. Along with this #1051306 osprober bug.

Your entry should begin with "menuentry" not "setparms".

ya know I thought that too, but that entry was taken directly from another system that somehow works.
Anyway changing the first line to menuentry "Windows 7" doesn't make it better.

The commands for the menu entry need to be enclosed in curly braces.
