Bug Description

Binary package hint: puredata

Pure data stutters at the slightest provocation, and has many dropouts.

This can be easily fixed by starting pure data with the -rt option (for 'realtime').

"pd -rt"

This works both for lowlatency and standard kernels.

Suggest implementing this by adding a default configuration file "~/.pdrc" to
all user accounts, containing:

"-rt"

This way PD is started real time even when started manually, e.g. from a terminal.
I think this is better than simply including the option in the menu.

I think a note in the README.debian would be enough to close this bug, so users who feel the need for it to "echo -rt >> ~/.pdrc".

cheers, piem

~/.pdrc is officially deprecated in Pd, but not likely to go anywhere. There is a preference for realtime, also there is the possibility of embedding a preferences file, so -rt could easily be included, then it would be overidden by anyone saving their own preferences. -rt is preferred when working with audio, from what I have seen, but can cause problems when doing heavy Gem/video work.

Carlo, Hans-Christoph: Does this bug still exists or can you confirm me it is fixed?
