compiz crashed with SIGSEGV when starting grid pluign

Bug Description

I'm using Compiz 0.9.8.3, compiz will not start when I have the grid plugin enabled in ccsm.
The crash occurs after compiz prints to the terminal "Starting plugin: grid". The crash is in PluginClassHandler<GridWindow, CompWindow, 0>::getInstance(CompWindow*) () from /usr/lib/compiz/libgrid.so.

Please provide a full stack trace. Either by running compiz under gdb and then typing "bt", or by running compiz under valgrind.
