Bug Description

Sikuli will not start no matter what I do. When I double click the IDE shortcut, a new javaw.exe instance starts up but the sikuli window doesn't appear.

Running the following command returned the same result listed below: echo from sikuli.Sikuli import *; print SCREEN | java -cp "path-to-sikuli\sikuli-script.jar" org.python.util.jython

https://bugs.launchpad.net/sikuli/+bug/702797/comments/5

I then uninstalled all versions of java (7, 32 and 64 bit) and reinstalled 32 bit java 6. At this point when I run the command, the following is returned:

[info] Sikuli vision engine loaded.
[info] Windows utilities loaded.
[info] VDictProxy loaded.
Screen(0)[0,0 1600x900] E:Y, T:3.0

However uploading doubleclicking the shortcut sikuli still fails to run. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version of Sikuli with no success.

I've also tried running Sikuli with the bat file Sikuli-IDE-w.bat but nothing happens after.

I'm running Sikuli 1.0 rc3 (r905) on windows 7 professional 64 bit.

Thanks for your help!

I've noticed that after deleting the registry folder that after a certain point all screenshots are lost despite the project having been saved before I closed sikuli, which is quite detrimental to my work. Is there anyway to recover these screenshots, or to prevent them from disappearing in the future?

The reason I need to restart sikuli so much is that the matching box just keeps cycling instead of showing matches on the screen. After each restart the registry deletion step is required to start Sikuli.

I looked for the newest version of Sikuli (Hudson) but the link was dead. Is this version available on windows or is only r903 currently available?

Thanks again.

not really clear what that should be

If you face these problems, ALWAYS save your script before running it.
If you abort it using the abort shortcut, restart IDE afterwards.
r930 does not have these startup problems anymore.

Here's the confusing thing:

Latest version: X 1.0 rc3 (r930)

But the link reads: Sikuli-X-1.0rc3 (r905)-win32.exe

I just used this link to reinstall yesterday. Which version did I get?

What I mean by the match screen cycling is that the wait indicator just keeps circling around but it never shows any matches.

Ok, might have been unclear ;-)
if you follow the above link and go to the Windows section you can find a link that states r930.
Download, unzip and replace the content of your current Sikuli X with the content of the folder Sikuli-IDE from the download.

I guess, you are talking about the Preview window "matching preview".
Try again with the latest version.

If you face problems: faq 2005
