Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

The network-manager update released yesterday, 0.6.4-6ubuntu5, is not working properly on my ThinkPad X32 with one wired network connection and one wireless. Its applet icon shows "No network connection", although "Static configuration..." still seems to work and I can access the network as usual.

I also experienced another problem when applying updates last night. After the updates were applied, the gnome applet and the network interfaces were all gone. After rebooting, network interfaces restored, but the gnome applet kept showing "No network connection." I noticed there was an ifupdown update last night. So it could be related with ifupdown.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Could you please add the contents of your '/etc/network/interfaces' file? Thanks in advance.

Same here. After upgrading to 0.6.4-6ubuntu5 connectivity was lost (wired static configuration) and Knetwokmanager indicated the "no active connection" red x. After rebooting connectivity was back but the same behaviour continued in Knetworkmanager. Manually downgrading to 0.6.4-6ubuntu4 instantly gives me the correct indication in Knetworkmanager.

@Mikael Nilsson: Definitely the same case along with all recent bug reports on network-manager. Things used to work for me since 0.6.4-6ubuntu3 and with 0.6.4-6ubuntu4. Maybe a patch was left out of 0.6.4-6ubuntu5?
