indicator-messages does not display despite gwibber and empathy running

No messaging indicator appears on the top unity panel, when running the service manually it fails with "Name request failed."

The messaging menu doesn't appear anymore when no applications are using it. If you had applications that were using it, just start them manually once and the menu should reappear.

The failed name requests happens because the service is already running.

I can confirm that I have manually started both empathy and gwibber. Neither caused the indicator to show

I have done many re-installs since this bug was discovered, sorry. (It seems to work fine with a fresh install)
