cannot tell which version of ubuntu booted from the greeter

Bug Description

From the greeter view (see screenshot) there is no way to tell which version of Ubuntu is booted.

After clicking "Try Ubuntu" you can, because the desktop shortcut says "Intall Ubuntu 12.10"

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
