Bug Description

Pressing Alt+Grave (Alt+`) used to be a GREAT shortcut for switching between windows of the same application. But for a while now this shortcut no longer works well enough to be of any use as a shortcut. I do not want to have to click the Launcher-Icon to get a spread mode (I want to be able to just tap Alt+Grave to switch to the other window of the app).

At some point in the past, Alt+Grave used to work like this:
1) two windows of the same application are open
2) pressing Alt+Grave once without holding it down would switch the focus to the other window of the same app.

This shortcut no longer works. Here's how it works now:
1) two windows of the same application are open
2) pressing Alt+Grave once without holding it down does NOT switch focus to the other window. It just causes an overlay to flash over the screen without ever switching windows. If I hold down Alt+Grave then I get an overlay to appear at which point I can tap Grave a second time to switch windows. This is terribly inefficient and a Pain to use.

WILL YOU PLEASE FIX THIS?

Here's how it should work:
1) pressing Alt+Grave once without holding it down should switch to the next window of the same application with no overlay appearing.
2) the overlay should ONLY appear if Alt+Grave is HELD down AND 3 or more windows of the same application are open. If just two windows of same app are open, pressing Alt+Grave once should just switch focus to the other window.
3) pressing Alt+Grave once (not holding it down) should advance focus to the next open window of the same app, but it should NOT revert back to the last focused window. If the user wants to jump back and forth between a pair of windows then user should use Alt+Tab for this.
4) if 3 or more windows of the same app are open, then pressing Alt+Grave once should cause individual advancement (ie, one at a time) through all open windows of the same app (e.g. 1-2-3-4) without any overlay appearing. Holding down Alt+Grave should cause overlay to appear showing only the windows for the currently focused app.

The way it is now in latest 12.04 (18 Sept 2012) is totally unusable and a pain to operate.

This really needs fixing BAD!
