Bug Description
Hi,
I am not sure this is a vlc bug because when it happens with the top command I can see that Xorg uses 100% of the processor but it happens for me only when I am using vlc:
-I open the vlc player in command line and I go to the preferences
-when I click on Show settings/All a window border appears and it flashes and my laptop is responding very slowly
-in command line I get this error message:
I have a Dell XPS 15z, bumblebee installed only the Intel video card is used. I am using quantal, it's up to date.
The vlc version is: VLC media player 2.0.3 Twoflower (revision 2.0.2-93-g77aa89e)
lsb_release -rd:
Description: Ubuntu quantal (development branch)
Release: 12.10
apt-cache policy vlc:
vlc:
Installed: 2.0.3-2
Candidate: 2.0.3-2
Version table:

If you need more information please let me know.
You're right, it's not vlc itself. :) The 'Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_ widget_ style_get: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed"' problem is in liboverlay- scrollbars, and it's hitting apps that use qt4. It's bug 1005677, and the workaround is to set
LIBOVERLAY_ SCROLLBAR= 0
either in the shell before your commands, or in /etc/enviroment until this is fixed. Thanks!
