Bug Description

I switch regularly between Office and HomeOffice and use cuttlefish to adapt my settings to each environment, like setting the default printer etc.

One thing I must do in HomeOffice is to connect to the company VPN, which is configured in Network Manager. It would be great if I could tell cuttlefish to automatically execute this task on startup too.

Hi Oliver,

thanks for your feedback. The usecase that you describe is similar to mine, thus I will implement the VPN-Connection feature in the future. Currently I'm quite busy so don't expect this feature to land in cuttlefish in the next month :-(

But there is a pretty neat workaround for this usecase, check it out here: https://answers.launchpad.net/cuttlefish/+question/204311

importance: Undecided → Critical
importance: Critical → High
importance: High → Low
importance: Low → Wishlist

Hi Alex,

Thanks for your answer. I already stumbled across that solution and tried to use it in form of a custom Cuttlefish action plugin (which is a ridiculously easy thing to do :-). Currently I stumble across the problem that the root user is unable to retrieve the VPN secret and I am not really comfortable with writing the password in cleartext to the config file, which is offered as solution.

So, as this request is just about adding a little comfort I am ok with waiting for this feature to be implemented.
