ucf debconf prompt lands in hidden terminal instead of using gnome frontend

I had a package (legitimately) prompt for ucf merging of a config file today on upgrade in quantal. Instead of displaying this for me in a window, however, the prompt was hidden in the associated terminal.

Furthermore, clicking on 'details' to expand the terminal gave me an 80x1 terminal widget, so it took me a while to figure out I needed to expand the update-manager window.

The log file attached to this bug report refrers to a conffile not a debconf prompt:

Configuration file `/etc/grub.d/05_debian_theme'
 ==> Modified (by you or by a script) since installation.

I've tested the conffile handling in update-manager by installing an older version of ginn and then the latest version of ginn, 0.2.6-0ubuntu1, for which I have a modified configuration file. I was presented with a gtk window showing me the differences between the 2 files and they did not appear in the details expander, subsequently I believe this is already fixed.

I was testing with update-manager version 0.174.2 and aptdaemon version 0.45+bzr861-0ubuntu9.
