Bug Description

Support for the Composer tag is an essential bit for Classical music listeners. More often than not, as in the standard practice, the Artist tag is used for the performers. Filtering or sorting music by Composer would thus necessitate the support of sorting with the Composer tag in the music player.

Right now few Linux music players respect this. Rhythmbox is known to have a years old bug about this. Banshee, Quodlibet, and Ncmpcpp support sorting and searching with this tag in the library/playlist.

Right now Noise already supports reading and writing the Composer tag when editing tags, so adding it to the library browser shouldn't be a big task (hopefully).

Nice suggestion. I was thinking about this the other day. We need to add a "composer" column to the music browser and the list view.

This might land before beta1 if time permits. It's very easy to add new columns to the current browser implementation.
