Menu for major mode not showing in Emacs24

Bug Description
The menu for major mode not is showing in Emacs24. I am using Ubuntu 12.04.
For example the menu "Org" when you load a org-mode file does not show on the emacs menu.
The major mode menu still appears as a context menu if you right click on the buffer with your mouse, however none of the menu options work.
Tried with Dired and Org-mode.

I have the same issue, and I find that disabling and re-enabling the menu bar seems to fix it.
I normally just run `meun-bar-mode` twice in succession from the minibuffer.
