Bug Description

Well, it explains to you a fail that I discovered in Ubuntu 12.10, version beta.

I'm using Opera Web Browser 12.02, my system is i686, 3.5.0-14-generic. I downloaded from the Opera Official web page, and I installed manually to /opt directory. I tried to run ubuntu-bug ID (Opera ID), but it doesn't work, because it says that the software isn't installed correctly. It's false, because I ran on XFCE and there works fantastic.

----> THE PACKAGE NAME, OR THE SOURCE PACKAGE: opera-12.02-1578.i386.linux.tar.bz2

The problem is the tab: I open a new tab to sail on the web, then, I close that tab, but it left a rest of the image tab of tabs closed before.
Here is a screen-shot of it (look to the tabs): https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B3ANzuiBrJJmdDVkemhRb3J5X1E

To see what happen, I typed on Terminal the Opera executable to see the problem, and show me that:
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 dave@dave-Satellite-A300:~$ '/opt/opera/bin/opera'

(opera:2497): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_style_context_set_path: assertion `priv->widget == NULL' failed

** (opera:2497): CRITICAL **: os_bar_hide: assertion `OS_IS_BAR (bar)' failed

(opera:2497): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_hide: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed

** (opera:2497): CRITICAL **: os_bar_set_parent: assertion `OS_IS_BAR (bar)' failed

** (opera:2497): CRITICAL **: os_bar_hide: assertion `OS_IS_BAR (bar)' failed

(opera:2497): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_hide: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed

** (opera:2497): CRITICAL **: os_bar_set_parent: assertion `OS_IS_BAR (bar)' failed

** (opera:2497): CRITICAL **: os_bar_hide: assertion `OS_IS_BAR (bar)' failed

(opera:2497): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_hide: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed

** (opera:2497): CRITICAL **: os_bar_set_parent: assertion `OS_IS_BAR (bar)' failed

** (opera:2497): CRITICAL **: os_bar_hide: assertion `OS_IS_BAR (bar)' failed

(opera:2497): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_hide: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed

** (opera:2497): CRITICAL **: os_bar_set_parent: assertion `OS_IS_BAR (bar)' failed
 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope there are a solution for that.
Of course, I repeat, I typed ubuntu-bug ID(opera ID), but it tell me there are no fails... I don't understand well... If you need more information about that, please, contact me.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1048577/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

Thanks crichtor, but when I edit the change in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1048577/+editstatus, in "Target" "Distribution" "Package" field, I put in there the name of the package, and I push "Save Change", and suddenly pop me up giving me an error saying that they don't know about that package.

So, I added above in the text the source package name. I hope it is that, Is my first reporting a bug...

Well, from what I can see, this bug is Opera specific, and I guess it's better to file this bug to Opera's tracking system.

No, it's caused by Compiz 0.9.8. Disabling it, or switching to Metacity, solves the problem.
