Bug Description

the command

dconf reset -f '/'

resets also the button postion of the windows manager from the left to the right.

In gnome-shell the default position is right, but in unity 'reset' should not change the left position of the buttons

Invalid.

The above command deletes ALL your settings for ALL programs and is very unsafe. Do not use it.

Yes this command deletes ALL of my settings. This is what i wanted to do.
Yes it is a command which may cause some problems. But what about fdisk or dd.
So i should not report a bug when the command is "unsafe"?

As you said this command should reset all of MY settings. NOT ubuntu DEFAULT settings.
By DEFAULT in ubuntu the window button are located on the left. this command locates them on the right, which is not the ubuntu default.

The bug is that there should be a line in "ubuntu-artwork.gschema.override" in "/usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas" which says:

[org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences]
button-layout='[close,minimize,maximize:]'

If you look in the file, you'll see that this has been done already for the theme:
[org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences]
theme="Ambiance"

Instead of just saying "invalid", try the command first and then ask, if you don't understand.

Changed in unity (Ubuntu):
status: Invalid → New
affects: unity (Ubuntu) → gsettings-desktop-schemas (Ubuntu)
affects: gsettings-desktop-schemas (Ubuntu) → ubuntu-artwork (Ubuntu)
