xfig open with .fig files

Bug Description

clicking on .fig files does not use xfig, and nautilus 'open with' does not give an option to use/add xfig
I am not clear on whether this is a nautilus, mimetype, or xfig bug.
It should Just Work though.

Confirm this bug still in effect, 9 months later.

Workaround: Install Ubuntu Tweak, and us the "File type manager" to add an association between x-fig mime types and xfig or matlab, or whatever you want to open them with.
