Bug Description

while the desktop install works fine with the same kernel and bootloader with the quantal beta1 candidate images, server does not initialize the screen at all.

due to this, the only way of installing ubuntu-server on a pandaboard currently is to mount the first partition of the SD on a PC before attempting an installation, copy preEnv.txt-serial over preEnv.txt and do a completely serial driven install.

@Oliver,

Do you happen to know if this bug existed on prior Quantal builds or earlier Ubuntu releases?
