Bug Description
If you run the sample Ruby application and check top/strace, you'll notice that select() is returning ETIMEOUT repeatedly. This is because the version of ruby-inotify being distributed has really bad select timeout behavior. It's been fixed in new upstream in Git, though not in rubygems. https:/
But really Ubuntu should be shipping rb-inotify, not inotify. http://
